Lots of progress! Power, Deck, Driveway and more

So Im going to start todays post with good news about shower floor tile. Im not sure how it happened but the tile is now grey and looks like what we saw at the design center. Ultimately the tile and grout needed to cure and dry properly. Our PM Aaron has been awesome managing this issue and we're grateful for his effort. He even made a trip to the Mount Airy Design Center to pull the exact sample we saw for a true comparison. We used that sample to compare it ourselves yesterday and its a good match.

Here are some before and afters, what do you guys think?

Before

After

Overall there has been a ton of progress on the house since my last post. The master bath has a shower door, toilet, mirror and hardware. A frameless glass shower door would have been a nice upgrade. It was an option we went back and forth but ultimately it got axed so we could stay on budget. This shower door is good for now, but i have to admit it does take away from the tile in the shower.

  2. Thanks Wendolyn. We're trying to contain the excitement because we can't wait to move in. We're loving the floors, were already making plans to add them to the rooms with carpet.

  4. When your post first popped up in my feed, I thought that first picture was supposerd to be the "after" picture, and I thought... ummm.... I sure don't see a difference. Haha. "The sink" looks fabulous. :)

    1. Im surprised it changed so dramatically. Were okay with eating a little crow for making a fuss over the tile. It really did look off before.

  5. The tile coloring looks much better. I like it. All of your tile choices are spot on. The sidewalk is freaking me out a bit. Are they putting another layer on it? Shoveling the driveway would suck if the sidewalks were lower than the driveway lol

    1. Thanks Kathy, we are happy with the tile. At first I wasn't crazy about the 6x6 white tile in the secondary baths but doing just the floors really helps. lol. The sidewalk won't stay that way, its just a cute design detail. The community has brick paths throughout. So at some point brick layers will be filling in that gap.

  6. I can't get over the difference in the tile. It looks amazing now! Your selections are coming together so well! That hardwood is so beautiful.

  7. I am such a dork, I went to enthusiastically "like" your pictures, and then realized that we weren't on social media. lol
I cannot believe the difference in the tile color! Wow, that is just ... unbelievable I guess, but it definitely is gray now. Are we SURE they didn't discreetly swap it out? j/k

Floors look fantastic, and I did a little squeal when I saw the sink! I can relax now, it looks great! So much better than the divided basin, for sure.

The tile in your shower looks so amazing, definitely still experiencing some remorse over our choices. Looks like you're set to close on time though, right?

  8. Were super excited to see it come together. The difference in the tile colors
is dramatic, but I'm not complaining if they did swap them out :))

The sink was totally worth the effort, it's so much more functional.

No remorse needed, I think you made awesome selections. Fabrique Gris linen should look gorgeous in a shower.
