Decision to move
Chris and I are currently living in Washington D.C in a fantastic location. You may even recognize Chris who was featured on HGTV's house hunters 4 years ago. We love that were within walking distance to everything and have an easy commute to work. Even though condo living has its many benefits, we've outgrown our 620 sq ft one bedroom unit and are busting at the seams with a dog and 2 cats.
This past fall we started entertaining the idea of moving. Our current neighborhood is going through some massive redevelopment that has caused property values to skyrocket. The values rising is great but it also meant we have been priced out of town homes in our neighborhood. We were looking for more space and a yard for our pup. After looking at our priorities it became apparent that we would probably have to consider living outside of the city.

That's so cool that your partner was on House Hunters! I love HGTV! We're in the same situation where we're busting at the seams in our one bedroom apartment in Alexandria. It's so exciting to be able to build a townhome and move out.
