First Impressions of Beechtree and NVHomes

First Impressions:

We first paid a visit to the Beechtree community before signing that contract at Brickyard Station. We decided to take a look at this community because it had the Andrew Carnegie model we really wanted at a slightly lower price point. We didn't know much about Upper Marlboro Md but it really felt like it was going to be a far commute into Washington DC. Regardless, we gave it a chance and drove out to the community. It really wasn't as far as we thought and we found that the community was actually worth the drive. The drive out to Beechtree was quite beautiful due to all the treelined highways. Since this was late fall I could only image what it would like look like during the summer bloom/autumn fall. The communities entrance was quite beautiful and it felt like you were entering a luxurious place. We were honestly taken a back because we weren't really expecting much. We were impressed with the beauty of the natural setting, landscaping, golf course and lake views.

We first met Kevin at the model home. I can't say enough about how wonderful he has been to work with. He was incredibly welcoming, personable, and went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable.  It was quite refreshing because after touring many communities the level of service was second to none. At the time Beechtree did not have a model of the Andrew Carnegie, but we toured the single family home and Norwood model which were also very beautiful. He then took us to visit the site which was a pleasant surprise because it backed onto the golf course. The view of the golf course was stunning and also had a sunset.

Afterwards we talked numbers and left with a quote. After several meetings we decided the price was above what we wanted to spend and we wanted to be very conservative (cheap :P). Chris and I enjoy traveling as often as we can and living a comfortable lifestyle so we didn't want to compromise the things we enjoy. Kevin really tried hard to work on the numbers and even though we loved the community we moved forward with the smaller/lower quality Brickyard Station home. We were incredibly impressed with the way he took the bad news. He was gracious and was very understanding of our decision. He congratulated us and let us know to contact him again if we ever reconsidered Beechtree. His high level of service and our experience with NVHomes is the reason we called back after canceling our contract with Ryland Homes.
